  • Alaska – Quarterly Monitoring

In this video podcast, you will hear the Alaska Department of Education & Early Development and the Alaska Gateway School District discuss how the process of quarterly monitoring has enhanced the success of literacy projects funded by the CLSD program. The shift from annual monitoring to the quarterly monitoring process has made a big difference in terms of districts being able to implement their literacy programs with fidelity and support. Listen in to hear how Alaska Gateway School District uses the “Playbook” to stay on track and monitor their own progress to prepare for monthly check-ins and enhance relationships between the district and State Educational Agency (SEA).

  • Kentucky – Triad Monitoring

In this video podcast, you will hear the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE), Hart County Public Schools, and Menifee County Public Schools discuss how the implementation of triad monitoring has increased the capacity of districts and schools to successfully implement CLSD grant programs across the state. The triad monitoring was born out of a desire to create relationships among school districts and allow KDE to get into all 41 districts with CLSD grants through a collaborative monitoring approach where districts rotate host responsibilities to create strong networks that will live beyond grant funding. Tune in to learn how to create a synergistic approach to program monitoring.

  • New Mexico – Developing a Monitoring Guidebook

Be sure to tune in to hear from New Mexico Public Instruction Department and Taos Municipal Schools how the Comprehensive Monitoring Guide supports the successful implementation of the CLSD Project. The guide was developed to increase support to sub-grantees and to ensure consistency of monitoring implementation across all grantees. Both SEA and LEA staff report the guide as instrumental in lightening the load at the state and local level related to grant implementation.
